ARC. BABATUNDE DESMOND OJO CONDEMNS KIDNAPPING ATTACKS… STRESSES NEED FOR COMMUNITY POLICING

The Honourable - Elect for Oriade State Constituency, Architect Babatunde Desmond Ojo  has condemned the recent increasing rate of kidnapping and other attacks around Oriade Local Government, Ijesa North and by extension the State of Osun.

Architect Desmond Ojo noted that a traditional leader, the Tirimi of Ibokun, Chief Amusat Dunsin was kidnapped along the Ilare/Esa - Odo road, while another unfortunate incident occurred within the same period at Iwaraja along the Akure/Ilesa express way where two FRSC officials were kidnapped. He further stated that many people both indigenes and visitors now live in perpetual fear and panic due to the kidnapping attacks which seem to now become the order of the day.

Architect Desmond Ojo however pleaded with the state government and security forces to immediately come to aid of the people in Obokun/Oriade to secure their lives and properties and restore confidence. He also charged everyone on the need for community policing as well as the need to tip law enforcement agencies of any clandestine activity in our communities while also urging security operatives to work hand – in – hand with CDAs and local vigilante structures so as to find a lasting solution to the spate of insecurity.
