EXCLUSIVE: Details Of The Traditional Wedding Between Dolapo Oni And Ooni’s Son, Adegbite Sijuwade

The traditional and engagement wedding between popular TV personality, Dolapo Afolasade Oni and Adegbite Adewunmi Sijuwade, son of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, will hold in Lagos today, Sunday, August 2, 2015, despite the rumoured passage of the paramount ruler.
We gathered that the event will take place at the Landmark Event Center, Lekki. The bride’s friends will share in a red colour Aso-ebi
Before now, there had been so much apprehension about the wedding taking place, after the groom’s father, Oba Sijuwade, “ascended into the loft” on Tuesday.
However, the two families were reported to have resolved to proceed with the event, because Yoruba tradition frowns at the postponement of a wedding ceremony.

We learnt that the groom’s elder brothers – Prince Tokunbo Sijuwade and Prince Rasaq Adele Adewole, who represented the family during the Introduction ceremony (Writing-in) last Sunday, are expected to play pivotal roles during today’s event.
Also, some close friends and associates of Oba Sijuwade will also be in attendance to hold the fort for him. This group will be led by Ooni’s cousin, Chief Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi and his best friend, The Otunba Adekunle Ojora and his wife, Erelu Oodua, Ojuolape.
However, we are able to confirm that the groom’s mother Oloori Morisola Sijuwade will be in attendance at today’s event. It is imperative to note that Morisola was absent at last week’s introduction ceremony. Sources disclosed that she has also arrived from London.
Morisola, the Yeyeluwa of Ife, is not a exactly a favourite of many Lagos society matriarchs and most other people. Invariably, she is not expected to pull much crowed from that department. Her main crowd is the local politicians, who always patronized her for favour.

However, a colourful crowd of notable society women are expected to flood the traditional wedding today, courtesy of Dolapo Oni’s mother, Chief (Mrs) Remi Olowu.
A seasoned lawyer and civil servant, Olowu is the founding Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA. Known to be socially active and fashionable, Olowu is among women who dominate the Lagos social scene. She is a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State, and even ran for the gubernatorial election in 2003.
