Ooni Of Ife: Oba Sijuwade’s Body Is Yet To Arrive From London

Contrary to earlier reports, the body of Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse 11, the Ooni of Ife, who ascended the loft last week Tuesday, is yet to be brought back to Nigeria.
According to sources, plans have almost been concluded to fly the Oonirisa to Nigeria, before the end of this week.
We gathered that after the traditional wedding of Adegbite, the son of Oba Sijuwade to Television talk-show host, Dolapo Oni, last weekend, some members of the Sijuwade family, who took time off, to partake of the event, returned to London early this week.
Notable among them are Tokunbo, Rasaq, Aderemi and some others.
Oba Sijuwade’s second wife, Ladun, reportedly stayed back in London. Sources disclosed that Ladun, who is stricken with palpable grief, makes it a daily routine, to visit her husband, where he is laid and cries her eyes out, since the event of his ascension took place last week.
The body of Oba Sijuwade will be accompanied by his wife, Ladun, children and some of his close associates.
Also, sources also revealed that a high ranking staff from the UK High Commission will accompany the Oba Sijuwade back to Nigeria. According to the source, “As a mark of respect, one protocol officer will go with them.”
