No doubt, traffic is one of the side effects of growth in any cosmopolitan state like Lagos but if we all come to the realisation of one fact that, traffic congestion is caused by vehicles and not roads sometime, then everyone of us will come together to profer a lasting solution without blaming the government for it.
A twitter handler posted a video of some women, obviously held up in a traffic gridlock, lampooning the governor of Lagos, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu and his convoy for alleged driving against Lagos traffic.
Miffed by this false report and campaign of calumny against the Lagos governor, his media aide, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, reached out to the handler of the said malicious audio-visual post to warn him against his action.
“Gidifeed, I’d advise you to drop this mischievous post. This is not Gov @jidesanwoolu’s convoy. He will never drive against traffic! Stop promoting falsehood and at the risk of sounding threatening, there is law against this kind of malicious lies to denigrate a person.”
I hope anyone who tries to make a story out of this can now see the truth and be fully informed that, the amiable governor also feels what the majority of Lagos residents are faced with daily and is doing everything humanely possible to ensure pothole- free roads in Lagos State; It is only a matter of time.
