Just-In FIRST OF ITS KIND IN NIGERIA: Soapbox Science for Women in STEM

Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women scientists and the science they do. Soapbox Science Nigeria held the first of its kind event in Nigeria for women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and recently, Management) on the 22nd of August, 2019 at UBA Open Park, University of Lagos, Akoka.

The speakers were female scientists and professionals in the STEMM discipline, and they showcased their research in simple ways. The open-air event was for to all who were willing to learn from and interact with our speakers.
Nine (9) Speakers selected from a competitive pool of researchers, shared their works in science, technology, medicine and engineering. The speakers and their discussion topics are:

Dr. Oyeyemi Omodadepo Adebiyi (@biyi_dr), Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos “Beyond Sport Betting”
Mrs Umeh, Chinenye Rosemary (@Nnajide Chinenye), Safety Molecular and Pathology Laboratory, Enugu, Nigeria “Tackling of Drug Resistance and Indiscriminate Use of Drug” PhD researcher.
Mrs Esther Ifeoluwa Akinyemi, (@puffybabe), “GIS as a tool to Nation Security”
