CONTROVERSY TRAILS SOCIETY BIG GIRL, REMI AMOPE’S
WEDDING TO NURTW TOP SHOT SULE KUDETTI,
CLOSE FRIEND ACCUSES HER OF SNATCHING HER HUSBAND.
On Saturday the 12th of January, at Isolo, Lagos,
society lady Remilekun Amope Kuforiji got married to her heartthrob, Alhaji Sulaimon
Olamide Atanda—a National Union of Road Transport workers (NUTRW) top shot who
is popularly known as Kudetti. The wedding, which was well attended by friends
and family of the couple, was held with pomp and pageantry even as it was trailed
by controversies. Three days to the wedding there speculations were fuelled by
a broadcast via Blackberry Messenger from a lady named Fatimoh who accused Remi
of being a husband snatcher. The BBM broadcast read–“Hello peeps! Remilekun
Amope snatched my husband in the process of being nice to her when she was
kidnapped a few months ago. She’s getting married to my husband, Alhaji
Sulaimon Olamide Atanda aka Kudetti, on the 12th of January.
Girls becareful who you choose as friend please re-broadcast”.
Despite the Blackberry broadcasts, the light complexioned lady went
ahead with the wedding. Information made available to us from Amope’s friends
hint that while Tosin was Kudetti’s live-in lover, Amope was a frequent visitor
to their Ijora home, they were known to be friends. Another friend
of Amope said she felt Amope’s action might be due to an experience she had
some time ago when a friend of hers snatched her former husband with
whom she has a six year old son. This saw Amope moving out of that husband’s
house in Surulere. The newly wedded husband, Kudetti, is the chairman of NURTW
Ijora/Badiya branch and is well known among the NURTW officials. It should be recalled
that Remi Amope was kidnapped around Omole Ojodu axis, Lagos, on the 29th of
October on her way back from Queen Blessing’s movie premiere, in an interview
with a soft sell magazine; she said she thankfully escaped from the kidnappers.
