YINKA AYEFELE TOP DANCER, SUNDAY CONVERTS TO ISLAM

It came like as a surprise to many who attended the public Ramadan lecture at Adamasigba stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State when gospel and king of Tungba singer, Yinka Ayefele’s dancer, Sunday converted to Islam.

 The public lecture which was delivered by top Islamic cleric, Alhaji Muheedeen Ajani Bello witnessed the presence of eminent personalities in Ibadan and Oyo state on Wednesday, 24^th of June 2015.The highpoint of the event which became the talk of town was when Yinka Ayefele’s dancer, Sunday came out of the crowd to meet the Islamic clerics sitting on the high table and told them that he would love to convert to Islam. The clerics were meeting him for the first time had to inform Alhaji Muheedeen on the development and he was called out by Alhaji Muheedeen to be baptized according to Islamic rites. Before his conversion, alhaji Muheedeen asked him why he wanted to convert to Islam and he replied” I love Islam and have heard much about the religion and I believe it is a region of peace and love which made up his mind to be in such tolerant religion”.  After he was baptized Chief Imam of Ibadan was called to come and give him Islamic name and Abdulih was given to him and public were implored to address him Abdulih henceforth and not Sunday.  But for those who were at the programme and familiar with Yinka Ayefele music were surprised at this development.
