Popular juju gospel musician Yinka Ayefele has been hospitalized in Ado- Ekiti following injuries sustained during his attack while performing at a burial in Ondo state on Saturday, October 3, 2015. His publicist, David Ajiboye has disclosed that the wheel chair bound musician was hit by a plank on his chest during the attack. ‘Yinka Ayefele, MON was attacked by hoodlums on the outskirt of Akure on Saturday 3rd October, 2015 during the burial party of Madam Ebunoluwa Lydia Odumakinde where he was contracted to perform with his band members,’ the statement read. David Ajiboye further discloses: ‘the hoodlums, after collecting N200, 000 from the artiste as ‘settlement’ later demanded for a sum of N500,000 which did not go down well with Ayefele and in the process of the argument, he was hit on the chest by a plank which was thrown at him.’ NET was told that Ayefele’s 2015 Ford Explorer was vandalized while his recently acquired musical instrument worth N150m was also damaged. Ayefele collapsed earlier today while honouring an invitation by the Ekiti state Government in celebration of the World Teachers Day which is as a result of the Saturday attack. He is now responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
