Taking the turn of, ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ , for the youthful monarch , Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Ilufemiloye Telu 1. It is, however, no more news that his marriage to Jamaican wife, Chanel Chin, has crashed irretrievably and virtually irreconcilable. Interestingly, it was the ‘emperor’ himself that rushed to the social media to demean the woman he once called his heartthrob. The battle of wits started with a statement from the Oluwo’s palace, via one Alli Ibrahim, believed to be the Oba’s spokesman, which reads inter alia: “This is to inform the general public, most especially friends and associates of the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, that Ms Chanel Chin is an ex-queen of his majesty. This information is necessary for the attention of the general public to avoid any representation or proxy or accordance of respect attached to the sacred stool of Oluwo to her. For personal irreconcilable differences, Chanel Chin has ceased to be his Majesty’s Queen. We enjoin the public to disregard any business transaction or request with her, using the office of His Majesty.’ Of course, many have been gossiping, although unconfirmed, about the under-current infractions between the couple, until the real story of their now-exposed crashed marriage hit the public domain, which has now revealed unambiguously, through Alli Ibrahim, that the marriage was experiencing the worst of times. Immediately after the spill out,many especially on the social media,went for the King,they tore him into pieces for dehumanizing the Queen Chin.Trust Oba Akanbi,he responded in very pliant words:. ’if I ever did any evil or showed anything other than love in this my immediate past union, let the Almighty judge me and remove the crown from me, but if I’m righteous enough in this marriage, may God let me reign for long enough and always overcome all adversaries and calamities that may come my way. May evil befall the one that did evil to each other in the marriage, Amen.’. Today, the former Queen is bitter that she was ignominiously thrown out of the palace, and to add insult, the car bought for her by the Oba was retrieved from her, while the monarch even collected some of the expensive clothes and jewelry, which the King bought for her during their brief marriage. As you read this, Chanel Chin is angry and embittered at the dehumanizing and debasing treatment meted to her by the controversial monarch, and she is now ready to hit him back, not minding whose ox is gored and even if the palace burns. She has since started opening a can of very unwholesome worms that are far unbecoming of a traditional ruler of Olu of Iwo’s status for that matter, especially the many dirty secrets of betrayals and treacheries that are not worthy of a king. Embattled Chanel Chin was said to have revealed the arbitrary drug life of the monarch to her close allies and how he betrayed those who helped him to the throne, citing like of the revered Chief Abiola Ogundokun, who, the Olu of Iwo just suddenly dumped and started waging a war of attrition against him, no sooner than he got to the majestic seat which he earnestly thirsted for then. The last of the story of this royal marital jumble is yet to be heard, Channel Chin, still has more to spill of un-kingly acts of her former husband. She is obviously ready to pay back the Oluwo in his own coins, as she now deliberately hobnobs and dines with those who know his dirty pasts.
