Renowned Yoruba Movie Marketer, Almoroof Finally Relocates To Kwara As Debt Takes Over Arena Market

The latest news at our disposal has revealed that one of the famous indegenous movie marketers, operating at the Arena Shopping Complex, Oshodi, Lagos State, Alhaji Maroof Afolayan, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Almoroof Standard Investment, has finally close down his office in Lagos and return to his village in Kwara State.

In the recent time, things are not as they used to be for the association of Yoruba movie marketers as they usually records low sales, incurring debt for themselves and this has gradually making the major stake holders to be pulling out, while some who could not make such decision seek alternative business to back up the movie marketing.

According to what we gathered, Alhaji Moroof Afolayan is said to have allegedly returned to Kwara State parmanently to finally pay more attentions on his Real Estate business.

Meanwhile, some years back, precisely in August 2017, the ace movie marketer was bestowed with a chieftaincy title for his philanthropic gesture and promotion of thespians in the Yoruba movie industry.

Almaroof who is the Apashe of Army Arena, Oshodi, Lagos by artistes had the new title of ‘Alaafin of Lagos’ communicated to him in 2017 by veteran Yoruba movie actor, Muka Ray Eyiwunmi.

Muka Ray, who played a lead role in “Ashiru Ejire” the blockbuster movie marketed by Almaroof Standard Investment was said to have put a call through to several leading actors and actresses including Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri and Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo) to inform them that he has communicated the new title to Afolayan.

On his new title, Almaroof said he was astounded when Muka Ray informed him about the anonymous decision of ‘A List’ Yoruba actors and actresses to elevate him from Apashe to Alaafin of Lagos.
