It may not have been known or observed by many Lagosians particularly the elites who are indigenes of Lagos that their state is being controlled by foreigners.
This also brings to mind, a popular slogan by Igbos who lives in the State that Lagos is “no man’s land”.
Since democracy in 1999, Lagos has been governed by foreigners whose fathers are not indigenes of Lagos but other part of south-east.
But the most embarrassing one for the so-called Lagosians who use to claim that they are indigenes and that Lagos belongs to them is the current dispensation (government) in Lagos that is being control by indigenes of Ogun State.
The governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu who is from Ijebu and his deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat whose father is a King in Ewekoro, Ogun State both from Ogun State.
As if that is not enough, the three senator representing Lagos sate, two from Ogun State while one from Edo. Senator, Solomon Olamilekan Ademola known as Yayi representing Lagos West senatorial districts is from Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State. Senator, Bayo Oshinowo known as Peperito representing Lagos East senatorial districts is from Ijebu, Ogun State. While three time Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central senatorial districts is from Edo State.
In fact, findings revealed that 70 percent of house of Representative members representing Lagos at the National Assembly are not Lagosians.
Even, some of the state house of assembly and local government chairman are not Lagosians.
It is now clear and obvious that Lagos is being control by non-indigenes. Is Lagos truly a ‘no man’s land?
