“We Want To Go Home – Covid-19 Patients Cry Out [Video]

Nigeria’s desperate battle against Covid-19 pandemic has become a lot more complicated with delays in the turn in time of test results; leaving a few patients in Asokoro General Hospital Treatment Centre agitated and asking authorities to allow them return to their homes.

One of the patients, Mnwese Precious was brought in for isolation three weeks ago (on the 23rd of April) after she showed symptoms of Covid-19.

She has undertaken two separate tests but none has come back to confirm her status.

“These people are not giving us our results. I don’t know what is the problem”, Precious lamented.

Another patient said she has been tested about two or three times without getting any of the results.

In frustration, Precious said she was tired of being kept in the isolation centre; asking authorities to allow her go back home.

“I have no headache, no catarrh. I do not know why these people are keeping us here and I have a one year and six months old baby. I need to go back to my work, I want to go back to my work”, she said.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has admitted that testing has been a major challenge in the country.
