APC HAS FAILED MY POPLE....HON. TAJUDEEN AGORO

Honourable Tajudeen Jayeola Agoro is one man who has distinguished himself and stoodout in Lagos mainland with his selfless service to people his community which has earned him two term as Lagos honourable. in this interview with publisher of islanders international, Ola Muhammed, he told
us his next political move, governor Fashola anti-human policy, president Jonathan performance and other interesting story.

We heard that you are aspiring for federal house of representative in mainland, how true it is?
Yes, thank you very much. By the grace of God, my name is Tajudeen Jaiyeola  Agoro. I am a lawyer  I heard the calling of my people in this community Oyingbo and its environment that I should contest for the federal house of representative on the basis of my outstanding performances in last election and when I was elected to Lagos State house of assembly First and Second term my activities as the Former co-coordinator of Napeb that why they asked me to contest for the house of representative and the pressure have been on me for the past a year but I did not concede to contest unity after the past Ramadan as a Muslim the very last Ten days of Ramadan is very important to us and when I started my special prayer for purpose I got  the calling of ALLAH which is greater than any other calling  to go ahead and contest and that is why am contesting to give my people effective and responsive representative in the federal house of representative  which we have not been lucky to have in Lagos State,Lagos mainland constituency.

What has been your inspiration apart from the spiritual call?
Am inspired by the Service which am ready to rendered to people of my community which I have provided ,which am known for. I,am inspired by needs of our people in term of what the government is suppose to do to effect positive changes in the life’s of my people in the community, because this mainland local government made me as a person so I see it as a call to service to see how I can add value to what it suppose to be in Lagos mainland today. I believe I have the credential and experience to deliver for my people because they matter a lot to me.

Is there any programme you have put in place as foundation that has been touching lives particularly the less privilege within your constituency?
Well, by the grace of God I have had a privilege of running such in years back, when I was a teacher because I was a teacher in my final year in secondary school.I was a teacher for five years and I taught in this local government, two secondary schools and that time God used me to touch the life’s of people positively, again let me tell about the training we were doing myself and other colleagues but I left the park as at that time for those who are younger ones. We have a public library here at Herbert Macaulay, it happen to be better then what was Build now then it was demolished by a particular government, so those of us who were born and brought up here were also going there to read, whenever we go there to read our younger ones we guild them and made an arrangement for them to be brought up for their exams and it does a lot of impact in the community but unfortunately that library now because of the insensitivity of a particular government is  now a place where the car park is now, I can’t imagine that, do you want to talk about the library  alone  or you want to talk about the road. Almost every infrastructure in this community have collapse, why because of the facts that the people who were there in change don’t understand what it was because there were not part of the growing up in this community, am lucky to be part of it I know what it was so what we need to do is to make it better than it was not for it to degenerate to this level, not only that I want to say by the grace of God I had the opportunity of getting so much employment for the people of this community aside from that I have had the opportunity of getting admissions for so many people I can’t remember how many have lost count, I can’t say fifty or hundred because I have lost the count because why the only thing that’s make me better today is education so anything that is educational I don’t compromise it because that the only thing that can make one in life, you want to talk about the number of block and broken block that have bought to filled the pot holes on the bad roads in our community as the neglect of local government and state government in this our community, you want to talk of the market street, Herbert Marculay and Foloto street, cementary street but to mention a few because this is my community, I don’t know of any other place than oyingbo because am a son of oyingbo

Looking at it there is also information we will want you to clear that your office during the first administration and second of you as a politician you got there through platform of ACN?
No, I was never a member of ACN and I will never be a member of ACN, APC all those stuff, I was a member of AD Alliance for Democracy, before that time I was a member of UNCP, again I won under the platform of AD, and I left as a member of AD February 20th 2001 to PDP and am a obident and loyal support of late Engineer Funsho Williams believing in what he stands for which transform my life, I followed him to PDP and I have never change party since then.

Do you think going to federal office will be a means or platform to still touch the life’s of your people in your constituency?
The essence of government or governance is for the betterment of the people, for those who know and appreciate service to the people, so why am accepting the call of my community for contest for federal house of representatives for Lagos mainland local government is because I believe  God can continue to use me even better now because of the level we are talking now to the good of people of Lagos mainland let me tell you something when I was a member of Lagos state house of assembly and I was getting employment for the people in my community and not restrict to Ebute-Metta and also extended to Yaba which is not my constituency, as am sitting here now I can mention about five names that I can recollect that they are alive living today that God used me not my power watch my lips God used me to do that as at time and all this people now you know want they are doing for me now you will see my flex all over the places I only make twenty five flex and they have done  about additional fifty some of them won’t let me know they will just come to the office and request for my picture’s they will put the words they like as I talk to you is because of the service that God has used me I repeat if I didn’t do it because he (God) really used me and I thank God for that, thank God.

Why did you wait so long before you contest after two term honourable and the person representing Mainland is on fourth term?
You see am not a member of ACN I was never so I won’t speak because I don’t know how they did their arrangement, is never my party but I know that PDP however my community has never call me to service as that time so I didn’t contest for that election am only contesting now because am called by my community to service, somebody contested as that time in my party unfortunately he didn’t make it and that’s my very good brother but now because it is a call  to service by community I cannot say no to them having been called by my creator to go ahead so I don’t know what happened that time how they make arrangement at their party bring someone from island to mainland to contest without being a modest. it tells you the kind of people and party they are for someone to come and represent our local government it tells you about that particular party and convocation of the people in that party without being modest and charitable with my choice of words.

Do you think you can match the experience of the incumbent honourable who is on his fourth time now whereby most of the offices are being dominated by APC?
Well, by the grace of God all position belong to (ALLAH)  his the one that has the power to say be and that thing will be. I believe  that with the direction I got from ALLAH by prayers and the call I got from the community that I should go and contest I believe so strongly that this election is to be won for me insha  ALLAH. I don’t want to know who ever the opponent is since is the calling of ALLAH and also that of the people of my community by the grace of God we are winning this election through PDP with the candidacy of Tajudeen Jayeola Agoro. I have never lost any election in Lagos mainland the two candidates by INEC arrangement back are two PDP candidates as councilors in our wards we have ward G and F that show you the love for PDP in this locality. This is the ward where we have the immediate past honorable members the one that succeeded me when I left the house of assembly this is the same ward where we have the immediate past chairman of the local government is PDP but all of them put together were conquered by ALLAH not Agoro or PDP but ALLAH strengthen us and made it possible for us that same fit by the grace of God will be repeated in 2015 election with the candidacy of Tajudeen Jayeola Agoro for federal house of representatives for Lagos mainland by his grace am trusting so much in ALLAH.

What will be your opinion on PDP taking over from Lagos APC come 2015 general election?
Am going to roll a roaster to you do you know what I want you to do, don’t drive your car join public buses and raise issues about the political situation of Lagos and say that APC is the best thing that has happened to Lagos and see the reaction of people to you, do that and that will tell you why the next governor of Lagos state will be Mr. Jimi Agbare by the grace of God because look today the political situation of Lagos, the general public the voting public and politician across party line everybody wants Jimi Agbaje how God did it for him I cannot explain so anybody standing against that his wasting his time or her time let me be gender sensitive because it is God destined maybe I don’t know what to attributed to it maybe because of his outstanding performance at the gubernatorial debate in 2007 maybe because his a professional man, maybe because his an industrialist, maybe because his a philanthropist or maybe because his lucky that his a true complete gentleman may be he will win the heart of the populist don’t know ALLAH  know best. Let me tell you PDP in Lagos state is solidly united, Lagos state PDP everybody is on board to get Lagos out of the charcoal to give Lagos the next positive charge that Lagos deserve. PDP by the grace of ALLAH will be like a dream to the APC of sixteen just like of Ekiti state by the grace of ALLAH.

It seems like you have endorsed Mr.Jimi Agbaje, now looking at it we have various people not less than five or six who want that office in your party, do see Jimi emerge?
We in PDP will always have primary, we don’t impose candidate. The primary will judge.

Do you think with the Obanikoro being involved with the federal government back up,Mr. Jimi Agbaje will be able to defeat Obanikoro come primary election?
You know what, don't forget that primary election the vote will count and everybody will see that one particular candidate is stronger than the other, so no problem everybody will be given level

playground and everybody will contest and we will see the result of the primaries.
How will you describe the government of president Good luck Jonathan?
I will give president Good Luck Jonathan pass mark because he has done well his covering the whole country not covering Rivers state or Bayelsa state or Lagos his covering everywhere and he has touched life’s and there are so many thing to talk about him but what we need to do is to give him support and pray for him because he has whole all of responsibility as people being govern by those who are government, is a two ways action do you get that.

How would you describe the government of APC in Lagos state?
Yes, the government of APC Lagos state have tried but I will say that PDP will or can do better, at a lower cost and all those policies that are not humans friendly that don’t have human face we will try to adjust them I don’t say we will throw it away but we will fresh it up to have human face.

As lawyer how did your ambition or journey into politic started?
My first possession is teaching, a professional teacher, I qualifier as an NCE graduate before I went to the university to study economic education so I didn’t mistakenly find myself in teaching, am trained teacher and I teach for eleven years I have so many product of mine all over the maces today by the grace of God doing very well infect I was given an award by set of 42 by Nigeria model college Mushin lately, it was in the guardian newspaper. After that I lectured at Lagos state polytechnic, Surulere campus, not only that I was even a senior lecturer at Lasu you know because I told you earlier I love education I love sharing Knowledge with people and I love being around educational institution then while I was a teacher, before I was elected at the Lagos state house of assembly.
I completed my law, I went to Nigeria law school before going to the bar. I was once a teacher before I call myself a lawyer today but what feeds my family today is law and that is why you are at my chamber.
My movement to politics was a result of the call by the people of my community that why I told you this community made me, this is a great community and so many people were made from this community.
